Not to be biased, but February is truly my favorite month. The new year still holds so much promise, Valentine’s Day candy is in abundance, and it is the month of my birthday. Don’t worry, you don’t need to get me anything. It’s next Tuesday. And I like Gift Cards. But I digress. There have been a lot of big events so far this month, some good and some bad, but no one can ever call February boring! Herewith my monthly inspirations…

• The Costumes: Although I gave up the show long ago, I definitely loved the costumes on Pan Am, and was totally excited to read this interview with the designer/vintage scour-er.
• The Underpinnings: This month, with romance around every corner, all I saw were editorials with lingerie. Luckily, there is a major push towards retro glam looks rather than the bikini floss of recent years.
• The Blues: February can be a month of fantasizing about warmer and balmier climates. Soothe your ocean-aspirations with this dreamy vase.
• The Backup: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is finally giving credit where credit is due by honoring backing groups such as The Crickets, The Comets, & The Miracles.
• The Fishes: In honor of the Pisces birth sign this month, give some lucky birthday girl (or boy) a 1970′s diamond and gold pendant.
• The Lacquer: My shade of the month is a smooth peachy pink that would make any 1960′s housewife proud.
• The Icon: We lost a huge talent in Whitney Houston, but it is always special to remember her the way she was, with an unmatchable voice and stage presence.
